Great experience overall with some minor improvements needed
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Club Med La Pointe Aux Canonniers. Having been to multiple Club Med resorts around the worlds over the past 5 years this one had the best atmosphere, ambience and enthusiasm out of all the previous ones I'd been to. It really encapsulated the Club Med spirit for me.
I'd like to give a special thank you Oncel the head of sport who was always friendly and welcoming to me and my family from the moment we arrived. He was always willing to help on questions that were outside of his area of focus.
Whatever Oncel is doing as Head of Sport obviously spread throughout the sports teams as I received amazing service at the water skiing facility. Thanks to Darwin, Sohail, Asaël, Jerry, Thishi and Didier for being amazing teachers and drivers and creating such a fun atmosphere at the jetty. Because of them I spent most of my holiday skiing. I'd like to especially thank Sohail who gave special attention from the moment I met him until I left. He was friendly, helpful and considerate throughout my entire stay and I think the resort is lucky to have him!
While the service of the staff was incredible, there are some points the resort could improve on:
- Service to repeat Club Med guests on arrival and at reception needs to be improved. Our family has been coming for years so we don't need the whole introduction and onboarding. Staff should be adaptable to this and respond to each person individually instead of being stuck in the process.
- I was disappointed with the coffee machines around the resort. Firstly, automated Nescafe machines are not the quality I expect of Club Med in the first place. It makes it worse when they dont work properly which happened multiple times during my stay - at one point 4 of the 5 machines in the dining hall were "out of water" and did not work.
- There were multiple occassions when the bar didn't have ingredients or couldn't make a drink. Such as ginger for the mint and ginger spritzer which is on the menu. This is disappointing and annoying as a guest as it increased wait time at the bar. Also, the bars supply of Heineken Zero was erratic - sometimes they had it and sometimes they didn't. Evidently there is demand for non-alcoholic beers among guests so it was disappointing to see the erratic supply.
The above small improvement points are the only things stopping the review from being perfect. Otherwise, I couldn't fault the resort! Thank you

Amazing experience received by Mr Nasser(assistant manager FNB)
We had a beautiful and relaxing experience at the hotel. Mr Mohammad was excellent in communication throughout our booking over the phone but the day before our arrival, I've called to reconfirm, especially on our requirements to veg foods, but one of the male receptionist was rudely speaking with high tone of voice saying they don't serve vegetarian and arguing that I have to speak to the one I did the booking. Instead of showing a little integrity of customer service, he asked me to call back. Then Mr Mohammad took care of my needs with his expertise in the latter. On the day, I met Mr Salim with his charming and welcoming culture since 25 years and reported this intolerable behavior about his colleague which unfortunately I didn't took his name but they know.
Food was outstanding and we were taken care by MrNasser the assistant manager who was the only person with a warmth attitude and genuine hospitality. He was so kind and humble to serve us a plate of vegetarian food on table. People should work more on that ,especially higher level, in this business.
There was no vegetarian for tea time and the chef on counter doesn't even know whether the food item has egg or not.?
Coffee machine need to be updated.
The spa was magical and was welcomed by an Italian girl and finally I see and smell perfect grooming and hospitality. She were so sweet and kind that made me purchased the products.
Thank you Mr Nasser for your time and kindness, it was a surprise anniversary for my husband and you made his day as well as mine. Wish you a lot of blessings.

Honest Honeymoon Review
We have just left after staying two weeks here for our honeymoon.
Overall we have had the most magical two weeks ever. The room was incredible we stayed in a suite and it truly was wonderful, helped massively by our fantastic room steward Kavaraj who went above and beyond to make our stay special, making different towel animals each day for our two year old there really wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to accommodate us.
The hotel and facilities were incredible, what they offer you here on the resort is more than enough. Our little boy was enrolled into kids club and we were very impressed by just how much they do here with them, Gwen and Mitch both spent a lot of time making our little boy feel special, we are very grateful. For reference the kids club was set up exaclty like our nursery back home, it is not your standard kids club.
Whilst our stay was magical, there is definitely some truth in the reviews we read in regards to the resort being catered more for the French here. Whilst certain staff members made a noticeable effort with us (Oncel,Oliver, all the guys at the water ski, and lots of the staff at the restaurants all of whom were absolute legends and made so much effort with us) some of the staff actually dismissed us due to being British. All the entertainment is in French, and some staff members couldn’t communicate in English at all, and as a British family at times you can feel ostracised.
If you want to be fully emerged in the evening entertainment and activities and do not speak French it would be worth doing some research before booking,
However if you are looking for incredible sport activities and water sports, good pools, gorgeous beaches, lovely food a resort to chill and take in the paradise you are in than we highly recommend.

Wonderful Family Getaway in Mauritius!
Our family of four had a fantastic stay at La Pointe in Mauritius at the end of August. The setting was beautiful, and the facilities were perfect for families. Our kids, especially our 10-year-old, loved the kids club, which kept them happily engaged. Special thanks to Aki, Kevin, Camilla, Leo and Grace who were all amazing—their enthusiasm and friendliness truly made a difference!
Our teenager found it a bit challenging in the first week, as there weren’t any English-speaking peers around, but the archery instructor, Denis, was friendly and helped him feel more at ease. By the second week, the kids club staff also connected with him, which turned his experience around.
We also really enjoyed the evening entertainment, which was varied each night. There was a great mix of live shows, beach parties, and quiz nights, all of which kept both adults and kids entertained.
A huge shout-out as well to Hadj and Tom for their excellent tennis lessons. The classes were well-organized and made learning tennis later in life genuinely fun. We also went on some wonderful excursions around the island, arranged by Oli, which added a lot to our trip. These were well-planned and helped us see the best of Mauritius!
Overall, Club Med La Pointe made our family vacation a memorable one with great staff, delicious food and engaging activities. We’d highly recommend it to any families looking for a balanced mix of relaxation and adventure!
